Job Summary & Key Responsibilities

The Compensation Manager will drive the design and management of the companies’ US-based compensation-related programs, to include base pay, incentive, performance management and recognition programs.

 

Job Duties:

  • Assist leadership in the development and administration of base pay programs (including pay range development) by way of market research and in depth analysis.
  • Develop, Implement, and administer variable compensation programs such as annual merit planning/administration, bonus and commission plans (both sales and non-sales); 
  • Administer recognition and other cash rewards programs on an annual basis. 
  • Develop, Implement, and administer annual Performance Management process.
  • Partners with and serves as primary back-up for Payroll Team.
  • Works with Talent Acquisition team to ensure consistency in the administration of base salary programs across the organization for potential new employees.
  • Primary driver of job description creation, job evaluations, and maintenance of the company’s HR database for job descriptions. Evaluate all new and changing jobs within the company by way of job slotting and maintain a library of company job descriptions for use by managers.
  • Compare market data to MercuryGate’s positions to ensure the company’s programs remain competitive for recruiting and retention purposes. Stay aware of market trends in compensation and regulatory changes.
  • Maintenance of company job and position structures within the company’s HR Management System, PlanSource (UltiPro). Ensure that accurate data exists for workforce analyses.

Job Qualifications & Other Requirements

  • BA (HR, Finance or Business-related degree); Masters (MBA or MS in HR) preferred but not required.
  • Professional Certification (CCP, CEBS, CPA, etc) strongly preferred but not required.
  • 6-10 years of functional expertise gained while working in Compensation and Benefits functions; some HR Generalist experience and/or global HR experience preferred, but not required.
  • Strong project management skills; prior experience in implementing new systems or programs preferred (either domestically or globally).
  • Prior experience in working with compensation & benefits partners/vendors, including selection
  • Experience in working with cross-functional teams (e.g. Finance, Legal).
  • Excellent analytical skills, including a proficiency with Excel and other spreadsheet applications.
  • Prior experience with HRIS applications required; experience working with PlanSource (UltiPro) a plus.
  • Prior experience in working with Compensation applications required; experience with PayScale a plus.
  • Experience working in a ‘start-up’ environment preferred, but not required.
