    Job Summary & Key Responsibilities



    The Solution Consultant (SC) role works in tandem with Account Executives, selling to new prospect and install base customers.  The SC is expected to meet quarterly and annual quota objectives.  As a member of the sales team, SC’s add value throughout the sales process in the areas of requirements gathering and analysis, RFP/I response support, solution development, in depth product demonstrations and transition to professional services.



    • Clearly articulate the benefits of MercuryGate’s solutions to all levels including line of business managers, IT and "C" level executives
    • Proactively scopes the technical and functional solution required to address customer/prospects requirements; assesses customer/prospect met and unmet needs; and recommends solutions that are competitively differentiating and that maximize value for both the customer and MercuryGate
    • Provide input to product management and professional services pertaining to functionality gaps vs. competition and/or via prospect requests, and other product enhancement needs
    • Prepare and deliver high-impact, persuasive solution demonstrations of the MercuryGate solution as requested
    • Meets assigned targets for profitable sales growth in assigned product lines, market areas, channel, or teams supported
    • Provides coaching and professional development to team member in order to enhance product knowledge, technical acumen, and sales skills
    • Participate in trade-shows, user conferences, training, and sales seminars as required
    • Maintain a working, demonstration environment suitable for performing solution demonstrations
    • Maintain industry, market, and product knowledge, as well as, stay abreast of competitor’s products, technology and offerings
    • Follow presales rules of engagement and provide activity reporting as required
    • Completes required training and development objectives within the assigned time frame

    Job Qualifications & Other Requirements

    • Four year college degree from an accredited institution
    • Five + years of pre-sales experience in a B2B software sales
    • Experience in Supply Chain Management solutions with Transportation Management
    • Software as a Service (SaaS) experience 
    • Solid presentation and interpersonal skills
    • Proven track record of increasing deal size and accelerating the buying process
    • Successful quota achievement

    Travel: Position may require travel up to 50%
